5 years agoHendrick Motorsports driver Alex Bowman was impressive during qualifying and the practice sessions leading up to the Camping World 400 at Chicagoland Speedway. He posted a best speed of 175.942 mph to top the charts in the first practice session, and he registered a starting spot of eighth during qualifying. Bowman struggled in his first two Cup starts, finishing 35th and 37th, but he has a pair of 10th-place showings in his most recent starts at the track. Bowman has come close this season, and perhaps Chicagoland is where he breaks through for that elusive victory.--Daniel Dobish
