1 year agoAlex Bowman faces a win to get in for a playoff spot at this point. He is not the only Hendrick Motorsports Racing driver in this position. See Chase Elliott as a prime example. Elliott has some closer results in the path of a win, however. Bowman was faster last year on this track. He was ninth after Stage 2 then ended up eighth after 200 laps. The No. 48 Chevy has never led a lap on the two-mile track. That is a key point. Bowman has never been in a position to contend over the final laps of this race.
