Alex Bowman Finally Gets A Top-10 Finish At Indy Road Course
1 year agoIt had been a while since we've seen Alex Bowman's name inside the top 10 list of finishers in a NASCAR Cup Series race--over four months to be exact. Coming into the Indy Road Course race weekend, Bowman's last top-10 finish was at Richmond back on April 2, which was before his accident that caused him to miss a few races. With a 5th-place result at Indianapolis, though, Bowman has finally got a good finish under his belt. When asked about it after the race, the Hendrick Motorsports driver remarked, "Everyone is like, 'Man, you've sucked for months.' It's really like we finish [expletive], but we run well. It's nice to get a good finish. It's been a really [expletive] summer, so I'm glad to get a good finish for our team and we will keep digging." There are two races remaining (Watkins Glen and Daytona) before the Playoffs field is set, and Bowman will need to win one of those to lock in his spot. His best career finish at Watkins Glen has been 14th-place, while his best finish at Daytona has been a 3rd-place result.
