Alex Anzalone To Miss The Final Three Games
3 years agoDetroit Lions linebacker Alex Anzalone (shoulder) will miss the final three games of the 2021 season, but the Lions don't think his injury is a long-term issue. Detroit officially placed Anzalone on Injured Reserve on Monday after he was injured in the Week 15 upset win over the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday. The 27-year-old will end the year with a team-leading 78 tackles (49 solo), one tackle for loss, two QB hits, one interception, seven passes defensed and one sack in 14 starts. Anzalone has a long history of shoulder problems and dislocated his right shoulder three times in a five-season span in college and early in his NFL career. He played just two games in 2019 before having his second shoulder surgery. Before his latest shoulder injury, Anzalone was a defensive captain and was one of the team's most durable players.
