10 months agoFlorida Panthers center Aleksander Barkov (lower body) will not suit up for Wednesday's contest against the Detroit Red Wings. Barkov left Monday's overtime loss to the Anaheim Ducks late in the third period and he could potentially miss Friday's contest against the Minnesota Wild as well. "He has a lower-body injury that we want to completely heal because it is not an issue right now," Panthers head coach Paul Maurice said. "If he is at 95 percent for the Minnesota game, he won't go in that one either." It's been another big season for the 200-foot pivot, who has notched 11 goals and 46 points across 40 games, registering 117 shots on goal in a decreased 19:21 of average ice time per game.--Brenton Kemp
