Alek Manoah Sent Back To Minors
2 years agoToronto Blue Jays right-hander Alek Manoah has been sent back to Triple-A Buffalo on Friday. The team called up pitcher Hagen Danner in a corresponding move. What a frustrating year it's been for Manoah, who made his first All-Star team in 2022. He fell to 3-9 on the year after allowing four earned runs in four innings of work in a loss to the Cleveland Guardians on Thursday night. Manoah has a 5.87 ERA (6.02 FIP), 1.74 WHIP, 59 walks and 79 strikeouts in 87 1/3 innings over his 19 starts for Toronto in his third major-league season. Control has been a big issue for the 25-year-old, so he'll go back to the farm for now in hopes of rejoining the Jays' starting rotation for the final playoff push in September.
