Alejandro Kirk Smacks Two Homers Tuesday
3 years agoToronto Blue Jays catcher Alejandro Kirk spanked a pair of solo homers on Tuesday to help his club defeat the Yankees 5-1. He took Gerrit Cole deep in the first inning before victimizing Clay Holmes in the eighth for his second multi-homer game of the season and third long ball in his last two starts. The 22-year-old finished the game going 3-for-4 and acted as the designated hitter in this contest which is something to keep an eye on moving forward. Kirk's bat is certainly picking up speed with a .342 BA over his last 11 games, so he may be worth scooping up while his bat is hot for managers streaming catchers in shallower leagues.
