2 years agoOakland Athletics infielder Aledmys Diaz (hamstring) ran before the game on Thursday, and manager Mark Kotsay said Diaz hadn't experienced any issues with his hamstring in the last few days. He's not expected to need a minor-league rehab assignment and could return from the injured list as soon as Sunday for the series finale against the division-rival Texas Rangers. The 32-year-old veteran isn't dealing with a serious injury, so he should rejoin the A's roster in a few days. Diaz has really struggled at the plate in his 25 games for Oakland this year before his injury, going 13-for-85 (.153) with two doubles, a homer, six RBI, a stolen base and 20 strikeouts in his 93 plate appearances.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
