Alec Pierce Goes Without A Catch Saturday
2 years agoIndianapolis Colts wide receiver Alec Pierce failed to haul in his only target in Saturday's preseason opener on the road against the Buffalo Bills in a 23-19 loss. Pierce's failed connection with rookie first-round quarterback Anthony Richardson near the goal line was a drop after it hit his hands. It was a tough first preseason showing for Pierce, but he should be a starter for the Colts heading into his second NFL season next to Michael Pittman Jr. In his first year in 2022, the 23-year-old caught 41 passes for 593 yards and two touchdowns on 78 targets over 16 games (12 starts) with pretty bad quarterback play. As a deep target with a rookie passer, Pierce will no doubt have his ups and downs while being unpredictable and inconsistent in fantasy.
