1 year agoIndianapolis Colts wide receiver Alec Pierce ran as the team's Z receiver and field stretcher in their 27-13 preseason victory over the Philadelphia Eagles. Unfortunately, Pierce could not haul in any of his three targets, all of which were deep shots downfield. He is a ball-winner who is best deployed running deep routes, so it is nice to see him play that role. There is a decent chance that he will lead the team in air yards, which could lead to high weekly volatility. However, playing alongside a rookie quarterback with noted accuracy issues will take a lot of work to trust the former Bearcat in your weekly lineup. For now, he is a decent late-round wide receiver flyer in best ball formats due to the spike week volatility, but he should remain undrafted in most redraft leagues.--Nicholas Rodriguez - RotoBaller
