Alec Mills Records No-Decision On Friday
3 years agoChicago Cubs starting pitcher Alec Mills went 5 2/3 innings in Friday's no-decision versus the Pittsburgh Pirates. Mills cruised through the first four innings, but got hit hard in the fifth and sixth innings. Mills would end up allowing seven hits, five runs (two earned), zero walks and struck out six. Mills opened the year out of the bullpen, but has now made 15 starts in 27 appearances. For the season, Mills is 6-6 with a 4.25 ERA. Next up for the right-hander will be a date versus the San Francisco Giants. Mills can be avoided in that matchup and his best value is as a streamer moving forward.
