Alec Mills Goes Five Innings In No-Decision
3 years agoChicago Cubs starting pitcher Alec Mills went five innings and recorded a no-decision in Saturday's contest versus the Arizona Diamondbacks. Mills allowed three hits, two runs, two walks and recorded one strikeout. Mills started the season in the bullpen, but he has been in the rotation since June 15 when Trevor Williams landed on the injured list. Mills has remained in the rotation with Williams back in action and Jake Arrieta (hamstring) now sidelined. The Cubs are expected to be sellers at the trade deadline and that could lead to a more permanent role in the rotation for Mills with Zach Davies expected to be on the block. Mills is 4-3 with a 4.55 ERA and he is in line to face the Cincinnati Reds on Thursday. Mills doesn't offer much value at the moment and is best served as a streamer in favorable matchups for now.
