Alec Burleson 2025 Fantasy Baseball Outlook: A Repeat Of Last Year's Productivity Not Likely In The Cards
23 mins agoSt. Louis Cardinals outfielder Alec Burleson had the best season of his young career in 2024, recording a .269-21-78-71-9 line, all of which were personal bests, along with a .319 wOBA and 106 wRC+. The 26-year-old boasts strong bat-to-ball skills, posting an 83.0 percent Contact% while striking out at just a 12.8 percent rate last season. However, he's not overly patient, drawing a walk just 5.9 percent of the time in 2024. That isn't likely to improve much in 2025 and with a barrel rate of 6.5%, another 21 home runs are not likely, especially after seeing him hit zero of them in the final month of the season. In other words, drafting the left-handed hitter with expectations of a repeat of last season's totals would be unwise. ATC projections appear to affirm that, forecasting a .265-16-60-58-6 line with a .321 wOBA and 107 wRC+. The former second-round pick offers eligibility at both 1B and OF on Yahoo which provides a small boost to his fantasy appeal, however, RotoBaller ranks him at 218 overall, right where his NFBC ADP sits.
