Alec Bohm Not Worried About Early-Season Struggles
4 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies third baseman Alec Bohm had a strong rookie season during the shortened 2020 campaign. The top-hitting prospect for the Phillies, Bohm batted .338 with a .881 OPS and finished second in NL Rookie of the Year voting. Things have not gone as well for the 24-year-old in 2021 as he's batting just .224 with a .556 OPS and has grounded into 11 double plays, three more than any hitter in baseball. Despite the slow start, there are encouraging signs things will turn around for Bohm. His average exit velocity is in the 92nd percentile of MLB hitters. His hard-hit rate is in the 87th percentile. Bohm is making good contact but his BABIP is over 120 points lower than last season. Bohm is a strong buy-low candidate in fantasy and he should be picked up off of waivers if he was dropped him amid his slow start.
