Chicago White Sox outfielder AJ Pollock (foot) had a large multi-colored bruise on his foot on Wednesday after fouling a pitch off his foot on Tuesday, and he remains out of the starting lineup on Thursday for the second straight game against the Kansas City Royals. Fantasy managers should consider the 34-year-old to be day-to-day for now. In his first year with the Pale Hose, he's slashing .235/.284/.348 with only five home runs, 36 RBI, 35 runs scored and one stolen base in 334 plate appearances over 91 games. Eloy Jimenez is starting in left field and hitting third on Thursday against Royals right-hander Zack Greinke. Jimenez is a must-start in single-year formats with his .292/.329/.454 slash line and six homers and 22 RBI in 130 at-bats this year.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

San Francisco Giants outfielder AJ Pollock (oblique) will begin his rehab assignment on Friday with Triple-A Sacramento. The 35-year-old has been on the shelf since early August after suffering a Grade 1 left oblique strain. Pollock's amid arguably the worst offensive campaign of his career, slashing .165/.215/.308 with five home runs, 15 runs, 15 RBI, and no steals over 54 games split between the Seattle Mariners and the Giants. Fantasy managers should leave him on the waiver wire even after he returns.--Spencer Seguin

Updating a previous report, the San Francisco Giants placed outfielder AJ Pollock (oblique) on the 10-day injured list on Wednesday with a left-oblique strain and recalled outfielder Heliot Ramos from Triple-A Sacramento in a corresponding move. Pollock injured his left oblique on Tuesday against the Los Angeles Angels and will now probably miss more than the 10 required days on the IL. The 35-year-old veteran has been pretty useless in fantasy leagues in 2023, hitting .165/.215/.308 with five home runs, 15 RBI and 15 runs scored in 133 at-bats. Pollock has gone hitless in six at-bats over five games since being acquired in a trade from the Seattle Mariners at the deadline. Pollock should be on the waiver wire in mixed fantasy leagues.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

San Francisco Giants outfielder AJ Pollock (side) is out of the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against the Los Angeles Angels. The 35-year-old was forced to exit early on Tuesday due to left side discomfort. He won't be in the lineup on Wednesday, but might be available off the bench. Joc Pederson, Luis Matos, and Michael Conforto will cover the outfield against right-hander Shohei Ohtani. Pollock has struggled this season, so he isn't much of a fantasy option anyway.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller

San Francisco Giants outfielder AJ Pollock (side) exited Tuesday's game against the Angels in the third inning with left side discomfort, per MLB.com's Maria Guardado. Pollock was pinch-hit for before getting an at-bat. The 35-year-old has dealt with injuries throughout his career and has slashed just .165/.215/.308 in 144 plate appearances this season with the Mariners and the Giants. Fantasy managers should wait to hear more after the game, but they should steer away from Pollock at this time regardless.--Connelly Doan - RotoBaller
