Green Bay Packers running back AJ Dillon will face the Chicago Bears on Sunday night in Green Bay's home opener. The 24-year-old tallied 15 touches in Week 1 against Minnesota, totaling 91 yards while scoring the Packers' lone touchdown. Dillon out-touched teammate Aaron Jones 15-8, and while he will likely have more carries on a regular basis than Jones, the target totals for the two backs are tougher to predict. Jones will see his workload increase in the passing game, but it should not affect Dillon's status as a high-end RB2. Chicago allowed 6.8 yards per carry to San Francisco 49ers back Elijah Mitchell before he went down with a knee injury last week, so Dillon should have no issue producing Sunday night. Green Bay Packers free-agent running back AJ Dillon (neck) has been fully cleared by multiple doctors and is ready to return to the field in 2025, sources tell FOX Sports' Jordan Schultz. Dillon didn't play at all in 2024 due to a stinger, but he's still only 26 years old and has 2,428 career rushing yards and 18 total touchdowns in his four seasons with the Packers. He proved that he's not really a lead back when he got the opportunity in Green Bay, but Dillon should still attract plenty of interest on the open market as a big, physical runner if he's indeed past his neck injury. Because he'll likely be sharing plenty of backfield touches wherever he lands in free agency, his fantasy value will remain limited. This is a huge blow for the Packers and Dillon’s fantasy managers.  The 26-year-old was expected to be Green Bay’s RB2 behind Josh Jacobs and have a significant role in the team's offense. With Dillon being held out and backfield mate MarShawn Lloyd (hamstring) nursing an injury of his own, the Green Bay backfield has been hit hard with the injury bug.
