AJ Allmendinger Should Contend At The Charlotte Roval
1 month agoDefending Charlotte Roval winner, AJ Allmendinger, should be a contender once again in this weekend's Bank of America Roval 400. The Kaulig Racing driver qualified third for this weekend's race and had the fastest lap in the first session of practice on Saturday afternoon. The Charlotte Roval has been a great track for Allmendinger, too, as he not only has a win here in the Cup Series last season, but has won four of the five Xfinity Series races at this track as well. The road courses are where AJ Allmendinger shines, and this is likely his final chance to compete for a victory in the Cup Series this season. Heading into race day, it looks like the No. 16 Chevrolet is good enough to do just that. Allmendinger also finished fourth here in the 2022 race, and has led a combined 70 laps over the last two Charlotte Roval events. He has limited Place Differential upside in DFS this weekend, but with the dominator potential, AJ is a pretty good pick on DraftKings even at the high salary of $10,000. At the three road course races this season (COTA, Sonoma, and Watkins Glen), Allmendinger has the second-best average running position.
