2 years agoAJ Allmendinger has not driven in many superspeedway races in the NASCAR Cup Series, but will start the Geico 500 in 19th. This season has been Allmendinger's first true running at this track type. He has found success finishing sixth at Daytona and 16th at Atlanta. Racing at Talladega will be a first for Allmendinger, but given his recent performances at the other superspeedway, he should be able to find success. He will have a chance to get into the top 15 and if he can stay clean could be in for another strong finish.--Eric DeWilde
