Aidan O'Connell Returns To The Bench In Week 5
1 year agoLas Vegas Raiders quarterback Aidan O'Connell started in place of Jimmy Garoppolo in Week 4 against the Los Angeles Chargers. O'Connell had a decent NFL but struggled early and often in the contest. The rookie quarterback finished the game with 238 passing yards, a rushing touchdown, an interception, and two fumbles lost. O'Connell got into the end zone early on a tush push, taking a goal line carry away from running back Josh Jacobs for the first touchdown of his career. The 25-year-old showed flashes of potential but did not look good throwing the ball until late into the game. With Raiders starter Jimmy Garoppolo out of the concussion protocol, O'Connell will retreat to the bench for the Week 5 matchup with the Green Bay Packers. Despite taking the loss, Raiders fans should be encouraged that the team has a viable backup in case Garoppolo gets hurt, which is not an uncommon occurrence. O'Connell does not need to be rostered in fantasy leagues.
