Getting called into action significantly ahead of time on Tuesday night at Minute Maid Park, New York Yankees pitcher Domingo German answered the call in a more than serviceable manner. The 25-year-old Dominican entered in the second inning of the game after Jordan Montgomery’s elbow injury. German went a season-long four innings, allowing four hits and a walk, but no runs to go with four strikeouts. With the offense having their hands full once again against Justin Verlander, German led the Yankees bullpen in a masterful performance, not conceding a single run. After the game, manager Aaron Boone announced German would likely get Montgomery’s start on Sunday when the Yankees take on the Cleveland Indians.--RDelgado
