Adrian Peterson Atop Unofficial Depth Chart
5 years agoWashington Redskins running back Adrian Peterson was listed as the number-one running back on the team's first unofficial depth chart. Behind him were passing-down back Chris Thompson and heir apparent to the Redskins backfield, Derrius Guice. Peterson has a couple things working in his favor in terms of earning the lion's share of volume early this season. One of those is obviously experience, as the veteran gained the team's trust with a resurgent 2018 season. The second is that the coaching staff would likely prefer not to wear out second-year Guice as he returns from an ACL injury that cost him all of last season. As intriguing as Guice is for fantasy owners, expect Peterson to cut into his workload. This could be an incredibly frustrating backfield for the first few weeks of the season.
