Adolis Garcia Scratched With Oblique Issue, Going For MRI
19 seconds agoTexas Rangers outfielder Adolis Garcia (oblique) was scratched from Tuesday's Cactus League game after complaining of a left-oblique issue, and he will head for an MRI exam. It could just be a minor oblique issue, but even if it is, it could put Garcia's availability for Opening Day later this month in question. The 32-year-old Cuban outfielder had 25 home runs and 85 RBI in 154 games for Texas last year, but it was a notable drop in production after he hit .245/.328/.508 with a career-best .836 OPS, 39 home runs and 107 RBI in 2023 on his way to leading the Rangers to their first-ever World Series title. Garcia still hit the ball hard often last year, which gives him a pretty solid floor as a No. 3 fantasy outfielder with pop, but his oblique issue will have fantasy managers a bit hesitant to pull the trigger on him. Stay tuned for news on the severity of Garcia's injury.
