Adley Rutschman Out For Game 1 Of Doubleheader
4 months agoBaltimore Orioles catcher Adley Rutschman is sitting for the first game of a doubleheader on Monday against the visiting division-rival Toronto Blue Jays. James McCann will do the catching for the second straight game and will bat ninth against Blue Jays rookie right-hander Yariel Rodriguez. It's the second straight game that Rutschman has sat out amidst a slump, but fantasy managers should be able to count on him playing in the nightcap to race right-hander Bowden Francis. The 26-year-old switch-hitting All-Star catcher is still a must-start in all fantasy lineups when he's active, but keep in mind that he's in the middle of a rough patch offensively in July in which he's gone 9-for-68 (.132) with two homers, a double, six RBI, 12 walks and eight strikeouts in 19 games played. The former first-rounder should break out of his funk sooner than later.
