6 years agoChicago Cubs shortstop Addison Russell's ex-wife, Melisa Reidy-Russell, has accused him of physical mistreatment in a blog on her Instagram account. Abuse allegations first surfaced in June of last year, and Russell called the claim "false and hurtful" in a statement. MLB investigated the accusation of domestic violence, but Reidy-Russell declined to cooperate. It's unclear if another investigation will be opened or if Russell will face a suspension. It's been a down year on the field for Russell in 2018, too, as he's hit .250/.317/.340 with only five home runs, 38 RBI and four steals in 130 games while also dealing with injuries.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
