4 years agoChicago Cubs right-hander Adbert Alzolay (finger) threw a successful bullpen session on Monday, according to pitching coach Tommy Hottovy. He'll need at least one more bullpen before he's activated from the injured list due to a blister issue. Beat writer Meghan Montemurro noted that the team wants to see how his finger recovers in "game mode" conditions. Alzolay was placed on the IL back on June 7 with a blister on his right middle finger. He's eligible to come off of the injured list this Friday, but that could be delayed by a day or two based on his recovery from the bullpen sessions. The 26-year-old is sporting a 4-5 record, 4.06 ERA and 1.04 WHIP in 11 starts this season.--Jon Mathisen - RotoBaller
