Adam Plutko Implodes In Monday Loss
3 years agoBaltimore Orioles relief pitcher Adam Plutko turned in another disappointing outing to bring the O's loss streak to 14 in Monday's 3-2 extra-innings loss to the Twins. Plutko entered the game to pitch the 10th inning with the game tied and an automatic runner on second base. He induced a groundout to get the first out while the runner advanced to third. He then allowed that runner to score on a wild pitch, making the score 2-1. He struck Andrelton Simmons out for the second out, but then allowed a solo home run and a double before getting the third out. The inability to come up in the clutch or produce fundamentally-sound results is something that has plagued the entire O's team this season, and Plutko has not been an exception. He is now 1-2 with a 4.61 ERA over 27 1/3 innings pitched. He does not hold much fantasy value at this time given his current role in the bullpen.
