1 year agoNew York Islanders defenseman Adam Pelech (lower body) will be absent Saturday against Carolina. He exited Thursday's battle with the Capitals due to a lower-body injury and will be forced to sit out his first game of the season. Pelech has been skating on the second defensive pairing, recording one assist in nine games with 10 shots, 20 blocks, 12 hits, and a plus-two rating.
