Adam Ottavino Throws A Scoreless Inning In Spring Debut
5 years agoNew York Yankees reliever Adam Ottavino picked up the win against the Tigers on Saturday, tossing one inning with one walk and two strikeouts. Ottavino has been dominant over the past two seasons, with a 2.19 ERA and a 33.8% strikeout rate. Walks and stolen bases have been a problem for Ottavino, though. Over the past two years, Ottavino has allowed a 12.8% walk rate and a whopping 39 stolen bases in just 139 innings. Encouragingly, he is reportedly tweaking his delivery to improve his command and cut down on stolen bases. Ottavino may not get many saves, but fantasy owners who value holds should target the reliever after he accumulated 28 last season and enters 2020 with delivery improvements.
