Adam Ottavino Surrenders Walk-Off Hit
6 years agoColorado Rockies relief pitcher Adam Ottavino was victimized for the walk-off in Game 1 of the National League Division Series with the Brewers. Ottavino was dominant in the bottom of the ninth inning, but he quickly got into trouble in the bottom of the tenth after the Rockies had tied the game at two. Ottavino walked likely NL MVP Christian Yelich to start off the inning and a wild pitch put him in scoring position. Following a missed double play opportunity, Ottavino had to face Mike Moustakas with Yelich at third base. Due to his wildness, he was forced to avoid his devastating slider and instead grooved a fastball to Moose that was smacked into right. Ottavino is obviously one of the team's most desired relievers, but his lack of consistency makes him a dangerous play every day.
