Adam Ottavino Blows Save, Takes Loss Saturday
3 years agoBoston Red Sox relief pitcher Adam Ottavino didn't have his best night Saturday, yielding two runs on three hits and no walks in just a third of an inning of work to give up the lead in a 4-3 defeat against the New York Yankees He was saddled with his third loss and fourth blown save of the season. Ottavino was a bit unlucky in this one, as two of the hits against him were bloopers that fell in in the shallow outfield. It all looks the same in the box score, and Ottavino's ERA and WHIP both rose to 3.35 and 1.36. He remains a solid piece in holds leagues, with potential for more as an insurance policy for closer Matt Barnes.
