Adam Morgan Picks Up Save
6 years agoIt's another pitcher picking up their first save of the season for the Philadelphia Phillies. This time it was Adam Morgan closing things out, retiring the last two batters of the game in their 4-3 victory Wednesday over the St. Louis Cardinals. The fact that pretty much anybody could close a game for manager Gabe Kapler makes it difficult to rely on any of these relievers for saves. Seranthony Dominguez does seem like the best bet for saves going forward and is the best arm in that bullpen. However, he did surrender a home run to Matt Carpenter the game before, picking up the loss Tuesday. Morgan is who was turned to Wednesday, but you probably shouldn't expect a lot of saves from the left-hander.
