6 months agoFlorida Panthers defenseman Adam Boqvist (face) will not play against Ottawa on Thursday. The 24-year-old is forced to sit out the action after taking a puck to the face on Tuesday versus Boston. Boqvist's absence will give Nate Schmidt his Panthers debut. The 33-year-old veteran will roll on the third defensive pairing but could also see some power-play time. 46 of Schmidt's 220 career points (47 goals, 173 assists) have come with the man advantage. Aaron Ekblad will take over from Boqvist on the first power-play unit.

Adam Boqvist Exits Opening Night With Injury
6 months agoFlorida Panthers defenseman Adam Boqvist was forced to make an early exit against Boston on Tuesday after taking a puck to the face. Boqvist logged only 4:38 of ice time in the contest. This was Boqvist's Panthers debut after he was snapped up as a free agent in the summer. He skated on the third defensive pairing while quarterbacking the first power-play unit. Aaron Ekblad looks set to move up to the first unit if Boqvist misses time as a result of Tuesday's injury. Florida is back in action on Thursday versus Ottawa.

Adam Boqvist Injured Versus Senators
1 year agoColumbus Blue Jackets defenseman Adam Boqvist was limited to only 1:12 of ice time on Thursday versus Ottawa due to an upper-body injury. Boqvist has played a big role for Columbus lately, even seeing action on the first power-play unit, but it looks like he could be out for a bit again. Health issues have limited Boqvist to 35 appearances this season. He has scored once and had his ninth assist on Thursday. Kirill Marchenko replaced Boqvist on the top power-play unit against Ottawa, while the gap left on the first defensive pairing was filled by committee.

Adam Boqvist Available Again On Saturday
1 year agoColumbus Blue Jackets defenseman Adam Boqvist (upper body) has been activated from Injured Reserve and is set to return from a three-game absence on Saturday versus Tampa Bay. Boqvist has contributed seven assists in 20 games this season. He will be on the first defensive pairing on Saturday, and Boqvist should also log power-play time against the Lightning. He's had four of his seven points with the mad advantage.

Adam Boqvist On Track To Rejoin Action On Saturday
1 year agoColumbus Blue Jackets defenseman Adam Boqvist (shoulder) is expected to rejoin the lineup Saturday versus Minnesota. He missed his 13th straight game on Thursday versus Philadelphia due to a shoulder strain. The Swedish blue-liner has made 17 appearances in 2023-24, recording three assists with 14 shots and 17 blocks. Boqvist is set to take Jake Christiansen's spot in the lineup. Columbus reassigned Christiansen back to the AHL on Friday following three appearances with the big club.
