4 years agoKansas City Royals shortstop Adalberto Mondesi (foot) was hit by a pitch in the foot before camp started. Royals manager Mike Matheny released the update this week and stated that the team has been cautious with him ever since. It sounds like Mondesi should be able to make his spring debut soon. Matheny said that Mondesi was taking live at-bats and participating in drills last week. Mondesi had an inconsistent year in 2020, but still wound up with solid season-ending numbers. Over 59 games in 2020, he slashed .256/.294/.416 with six home runs, 22 RBI, 33 runs and an MLB-leading 24 stolen bases.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
