Adalberto Mondesi Hitless Over His First Five Rehab Games
3 years agoKansas City Royals shortstop Adalberto Mondesi (oblique) has struggled so far through his most recent rehab assignment. Through five games at Triple-A Omaha, he has gone 0-for-13 with four strikeouts. Mondesi has been sidelined since June 20 due to a strained left oblique. He has played in just 10 games for the Royals this year. He's nearing a return, but he'll of course need to show some improvements at the plate before he rejoins the team. Nicky Lopez will continue to be the team's primary shortstop for now, but Lopez will likely see his playing time decrease a good amount when Mondesi returns.
