Abraham Ancer Makes Loads of Sense at East Lake
3 years agoAbraham Ancer certainly makes sense on paper at East Lake. Over his last 36 rounds, the recent WGC - FedEx St. Jude Invitational winner ranks 11th in greens in regulation gained, second in fairways gained, and ninth in bogey avoidance. He is also coming off a ninth-place finish at the BMW Championship where he gained 2.3 strokes on approach. Ancer has also performed admirably on comparable courses such as TPC Southwind and Innisbrook. With that being said, in two appearances at East Lake, the University of Oklahoma product has finished 18th and 21st, and lost an average of 0.65 strokes per round at the iconic Donald Ross venue.
