Abdul Carter Won't Need Surgery
58 seconds agoDoctors told Penn State defensive end Abdul Carter (foot, shoulder) he won't need surgery after additional scans on his right foot, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Carter, who is in play for the first overall pick in this year's NFL draft, isn't working out at the Combine this week in Indianapolis, but he will work out at Penn State's Pro Day on March 28. "I couldn't be more confident that this will be a non-factor where he's drafted," Carter's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, said on Thursday. "He will put on a show at his pro day." The 21-year-old dealt with a stress reaction in his right foot late last season, but it shouldn't affect his draft stock as one of the best overall players available. Carter is also dealing with a shoulder injury, but the 2024 Big 10 Defensive Player of the Year should be ready to go for Week 1 of his rookie year in the NFL this fall. Whoever drafts Carter could have a generational talent on their hands.
