Aaron Wise has had a rough 2022-23 season. The American golfer has missed four cuts in his last five appearances in stroke play tournaments. However, Wise did win the Byron Nelson back in 2018 by three strokes over Marc Leishman. It seems like a lifetime ago. Wise's last top-ten result was last October at the CJ Cup. He did finish second in last year's Memorial. However, that form has been fleeting for Wise. His green approach has been brutal but Wise ranks ninth in putting on the tour. If he can get his irons and short-game in order, Wise might be worth a look.

Aaron Wise comes into the 2023 Players Championship only making one cut in his last four starts on tour. In his last 11 rounds (American Express, Phoenix Open, Honda Classic, Arnold Palmer Invitational) Wise only has three rounds under 70. With that, Wise has a best finish of 50th in three career starts at The Players Championship, only recording one round under 70 of his total 10 at the event. Although his DFS price is low, value isn't what you find with Aaron Wise this week.

Aaron Wise comes into the American Express looking for his first bit of success at the event. In five career starts, Wise has a best finish of 17th in 2018, and has missed three straight cuts at the event. Without the course history in his corner, it will be hard to play Wise this week since his recent play hasn't been fantastic either. Wise finished T18 at the Sentry Tournament of Champions, and only recorded one top-10 finish during the fall swing. Combine his lack of recent success with his expensive DFS price, Wise should be left out of lineups this week.

Aaron Wise will be teeing it up this week for the first time since November. The Tournament of Champions has now been designated as an "elevated" event by the PGA Tour and the 26-year-old has the opportunity to make a statement to start the season. The Oregon grad has made just one start here, a T27 back in 2019. That being said Wise should come in with a chip on his shoulder for this event after being left off the President's Cup team last fall.
