Aaron Rodgers Wants To Play Into His 40s
5 years agoGreen Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, 36, said "the goal is to play into my 40s. That hasn't changed." In his first public comments since the Packers shocked everyone by trading up within the first round to take quarterback Jordan Love, Rodgers also said "he didn't get asked to be drafted by the Packers. He's not to blame at all. Had a good conversation with him the day after the draft. I'm excited to work with him." Rodgers acknowledges that the Love pick was out of his control, and the goal that he will play into his 40s with the Packers "may not be a reality at this point." The future Hall of Famer didn't have much to work with through the air outside of Davante Adams last year, and Green Bay didn't address the position at all in the draft. Most fantasy owners won't be as quick to draft Rodgers as a high-end QB1 in 2020 because of his down 2019 and the lack of weapons around him. That could make him a great value pick if he can find a way to bounce back.
