Aaron Rodgers May Draw Interest From Vikings
1 month agoWith the NFL's legal tampering period set to open on Monday, the Minnesota Vikings might be interested in soon-to-be-free-agent quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers will be looking to play for the third NFL team of his career after he and the New York Jets agreed to part ways earlier in the offseason. Minnesota's 2024 first-round pick J.J. McCarthy (knee) missed all of last season but he is expected to be cleared to return to the field this spring. That being said, the Vikings would like to add a veteran QB presence to the roster, which explains their interest in Rodgers. Rodgers is unlikely to sign up to be a backup if he has a chance to start somewhere, so he could look elsewhere if the Vikings appear committed to opening the year with McCarthy as their starter. The New York Giants are another team that has been linked to Rodgers this offseason, with the Vikings also reported to have an eye on bringing back Daniel Jones, whom they signed after the Giants released him during the 2024 season.
