Aaron Rodgers Happy With Progress During Virtual Program
5 years agoGreen Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has heaped praise on the young collection of receivers behind No. 1 target Davante Adams. Most notably has been Allen Lazard, the former undrafted free agent who didn't make the roster last year out of camp, but who ended up becoming the No. 2 behind Adams by season's end. "He’s just a great teammate, and ascending player, loved his approach every week and he made some big-time plays for us," Rodgers said. Reggie Begelton, who signed out of the CFL in January, may be a wild card of the group. Head coach Matt LaFleur has been impressed with Begelton during the virtual program, but he still remains a long shot to contribute consistently in 2020 despite the lack of a receiver depth in Green Bay. Lazard will be a popular late-round sleeper pick because of Rodgers' growing trust in him.
