Aaron Rodgers A Good Option Despite Matchup
6 years agoGreen Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers will be playing in his first game after a prolonged absence due to a broken collarbone he suffered last year. He will be taking on the Chicago Bears on Sunday night. Rodgers threw for four touchdowns when he played Chicago last year but Chicago’s defense looks to be much improved in 2018. However, there are reasons not to be too concerned. Chicago’s newly acquired pass-rusher, Khalil Mack, will likely only see limited action as he has only been with the team briefly. Additionally, teams that pass rush aggressively don’t tend to bother Rodgers too much. While he will take some sacks, aggressive pass-rushers also give Rodgers a chance to work outside the pocket where he is especially dangerous. This isn’t the best situation, particularly given Rodgers occasional slow start, but Rodgers is a quarterback who should be started week-in and week-out regardless of matchup and should be viewed as a top QB1 option for Week 1.
