Aaron Nola Lit Up In Game 1
2 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies starting pitcher Aaron Nola didn't have his best stuff in Game 1 of the World Series on Friday, giving up five runs on six hits and two homers while striking out five and walking two across just 4 1/3 innings in the 6-5 victory. He's now had back-to-back poor outings and owns a 2-1 record with a 4.57 ERA across four postseason starts. Nola had one of his best seasons in 2022, posting 11 wins, a 3.25 ERA, 2.58 FIP, 29.1% strikeout rate and 0.96 WHIP. The 29-year-old will likely get another start if the series makes it to Game 5, and he should improve his postseason numbers.
