Aaron Loup Allows Rare Earned Run On Sunday
3 years agoNew York Mets relief pitcher Aaron Loup allowed a rare solo home-run to Juan Soto in one inning of work on Sunday in the Mets 9-4 win over the Nationals. It was the first home run allowed by Loup all season and, even more impressively, the first earned run allowed by Loup in 23 straight outings dating back to July 4. Loup has been absolutely lights out in 2021, posting a minuscule 1.22 ERA, 0.90 WHIP, 13 holds, and a 48:9 K:BB ratio in 44 1/3 innings pitched over 52 games. Loup should be rostered in any format that has holds as a scoring category. Even in fantasy formats that do not reward holds, Loup has fantasy relevance as a reliever who can help fantasy managers with ratios and strikeouts.
