Aaron Jones Records First Carry Of Preseason
1 year agoGreen Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones took his lone carry for six yards during Saturday's 21-17 preseason loss to the New England Patriots. It was the veteran's first preseason carry and just his second touch through two weeks. The 28-year-old has started each game with the first-team offense, but it is clear the Packers intend to use him as little as possible to ensure he is at full strength to start the regular season. Teammate and No. 2 running back AJ Dillon has taken most of the carries with the starters and will rotate into the offense at a decent rate, much as he did last season. Quarterback Jordan Love has posted two solid outings so far this preseason and should give Jones enough targets to warrant the veteran being drafted as a high-end RB2 heading into the regular season. Jones will likely see little to no run in next week's preseason finale against Seattle.
