Aaron Jones Placed On Injured Reserve
6 years agoThe Green Bay Packers placed running back Aaron Jones (knee) on the Injured Reserve on Tuesday. Wide receiver Allen Lazard was signed in a corresponding move. Jones said he thought he sprained his knee in the Week 15 loss to the Bears, so the Packers will play it safe and end his season with the team eliminated from playoff contention. Jamaal Williams had 12 carries for 55 yards and a touchdown and also caught a season-high four passes for 42 yards last Sunday after Jones left. Williams will have RB2 upside against the Jets as the lead back in Week 16. Green Bay signed Kapri Bibbs this week to back up Williams to close out the year. Jones was the team's best running back by far this year, finishing with 133 carries for 728 yards (5.5 yards per carry) and eight touchdowns. He also had 26 catches for 206 yards and a score.
