Aaron Hicks Readies For Everyday Starting Job
7 years agoNew York Yankees outfielder Aaron Hicks is set to take over a famous position Thursday as he starts in center field for the franchise. The 28-year-old has command of the position, edging out Jacoby Ellsbury, as he’ll bat fifth on Opening Day in Toronto. Despite injuries, Hicks is coming off a career year that saw him set career highs in batting average, home runs and RBI. Prior to his first oblique injury, he was hitting .306 with 10 home runs, with his numbers declining after his return. Alongside Brett Gardner and Aaron Judge, he’ll be a member of the Yankees debut outfield team for the season.
