2 years agoCleveland Guardians starting pitcher Aaron Civale (oblique) was placed on the 15-day injured list with a left oblique strain. This comes as a bit of a surprise as Civale started against the Mariners just three days ago and didn't appear to injure himself, although he didn't pitch very well. The team hasn't provided an update on Civale's injury yet but oblique issues can be tricky so fantasy managers should expect a multi-week absence, at the minimum. Peyton Battenfield has been recalled and will take his place in the starting rotation. Civale has registered a 2.84 ERA, 1.03 WHIP, and 8:2 K/BB ratio across 12 2/3 innings (two starts) so far this year.--Jon Mathisen - RotoBaller
