4 years agoChicago White Sox left-handed pitcher Aaron Bummer has officially been placed on the 10-day injured list after departing Friday’s game with a biceps ailment on his pitching arm. Manager Rick Renteria reiterated that he hoped it wouldn’t be anything of significance beyond the time that Bummer will have to miss over the next week. A crucial cog in the Chicago bullpen, Bummer has struck out 12 batters over his 7 ⅓ frames, posting a 1.23 ERA. The 40% K rate and .216 xSLG that Bummer has produced to open the year rank him in the top-one percentile of the game, making him a definite consideration for a roster spot in any deep-sized season-long format once he returns from the IL.--Jesse Borek
