Aaron Altherr’s Home Run Seals Victory
7 years agoWith the Philadelphia Phillies and Tampa Bay Rays close in the eighth inning this afternoon at Tropicana Field, outfielder Aaron Altherr’s big blow made the difference. The 27-year-old stepped up to the plate in the eighth inning after two earlier runs had given his club a more comfortable, four-run lead. Altherr wound up smashing a three-run home run, effectively killing any chance the Rays had of coming back. The club has now won six straight games and is playing their best baseball of the season. Tomorrow, they take on the Atlanta Braves at SunTrust Park.
