8 months agoNew Orleans Saints wide receiver A.T. Perry struggled early in training camp, but according to team reporter Jeff Nowak, he's been "coming on strong lately" ahead of the team's first preseason game against the Arizona Cardinals on Saturday. The sixth-round pick in last year's draft had a decent start to his career, considering his draft position, catching 12 passes for 246 yards and four touchdowns. The Wake Forest product has a chance to play significant snaps in 2024 following the departure of long-time Saint Michael Thomas. Perry has a strong college production profile and above-average athleticism, so he could have some fantasy value in quarterback Derek Carr's offense. For now, he's likely the WR3 behind Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed. It would be a surprise if he's a consistent producer, but his long frame could make him a top target in the red zone. His best value is as a late-round flier in best-ball formats.--Jackson Sparks - RotoBaller

6 months agoThe New Orleans Saints waived wide receiver A.T. Perry (hamstring) on Friday, according to a source. Perry has been banged up early on in 2024 and wasn't able to get on the field at all for the Saints through the first four weeks of the season. The 24-year-old pass-catcher will now hope to latch on with another organization in his second year in the NFL. The sixth-round selection last year out of Wake Forest caught 12 of his 18 targets in his rookie season for 246 yards and four touchdowns in 10 games played (three starts). With Perry now gone, rookies Mason Tipton and Bub Means and Cedrick Wilson Jr. will continue to fight for playing time as the WR3 in New Orleans behind Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed. If Perry signs with another team, he'll likely have to work his way up off the practice squad.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

6 months agoIn addition to New Orleans Saints tight end Taysom Hill (chest), the team ruled out wide receiver A.T. Perry (illness) for the Week 3 contest on Sunday against the visiting Philadelphia Eagles. Perry came into this one listed as questionable but was a full participant on Friday after popping up on the Week 3 injury report on Thursday. It appears the Saints weren't comfortable enough with the 24-year-old being active this weekend, but Perry should be feeling good enough to return in Week 4 to face the division-rival Atlanta Falcons. The sixth-round pick last year has yet to draw a single target through the first two weeks of the 2024 season and remains well off the fantasy radar for now. With Perry sidelined, Cedrick Wilson Jr. should have an enhanced role in the Saints offense on Sunday behind Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

7 months agoNew Orleans Saints wide receiver A.T. Perry (coach's decision) is a healthy scratch for Week 2 against the Dallas Cowboys. The 24-year-old missed Week 1 with a hand injury but was a full participant in practice this week. Now, he's sidelined again, but this time for non-injury reasons. The Saints will enter their second game of the season with Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed atop their depth chart, followed by undrafted rookie Mason Tipton as their No. 3 receiver.--Andersen Pickard - RotoBaller

7 months agoNew Orleans Saints wide receiver A.T. Perry (hand) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice, according to the team's injury report. Perry missed Week 1 with his hand injury but looks like he will be good to go when the Saints take on the Cowboys in Week 2, barring a setback. Perry's role this season is yet to be defined, and the team's matchup with Dallas is a tough one. With Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed as the team's main targets on the outside, Perry is still an intriguing talent worth stashing in deeper fantasy leagues as his usage becomes more clear.--Brian Buckey - RotoBaller
